Access requirementes:
- Protection can be requested by the adult themselves, family members, cohabitants, the public prosecutor, doctors, or third parties (e.g., care home directors)
- Requires a detailed medical certificate and supporting evidence
- Judicial protection applies only when the person has not arranged for their own protection
Procedure:
- Application: Filed by an eligible person with medical and supporting documents
- Hearing: The judge hears both the applicant and the vulnerable person
- Decision: A judgment is issued, possibly imposing an interim protection measure
- Implementation: Protection takes effect, with the judge monitoring decisions
- Review & Termination: Measures are valid for 5 years, renewable if necessary; they can be lifted upon medical reassessment
